Although the technology has a long existence, there hasn’t been much research on the effects of virtual assistants and whether or not they are a threat to humans. I have created this post to explore how these digital ‘companions’ might impact us in the future.
I have already seen that voice-based content has become a new way of consuming media, since it is now possible for people to get their news from multiple sources at once. Other companies are also using voice assistant technology as part of their customer service departments or voicemod even call centre agents when they need to provide customers with information.
