Vocational Pathways at Tuition Extra
Flexible, practical pathways designed around each young person's needs, interests, confidence and future goals.
Practical learning at a pace that works
At Tuition Extra, we offer flexible, practical vocational pathways designed around each young person's individual needs, interests, confidence and future goals. Learning can be delivered 1:1 or in small groups, providing a supportive environment where students can build skills and progress at a pace that works for them.
Students can work towards Open Awards qualifications from Entry Level 3 through to Level 2, including Skills for Further Learning and Employment. These nationally recognised, portfolio-based qualifications offer a practical alternative to traditional exam-led routes and can support progression into further education, training, apprenticeships or employment.

Explore practical pathways
Our vocational options include a wide range of engaging areas, such as:
Hair and Beauty
Catering and Hospitality
Sound and Music
Photography
Arts and Crafts
Creative and Performing Arts
Digital Skills
Science
Employability, personal development and life skills
These are just some of the pathways available. We can tailor programmes to the learner, combining practical subject skills with personal development and employability where appropriate.
Practical, portfolio-based learning
Open Awards programmes are assessed through a portfolio of evidence rather than formal examinations. Depending on the pathway, evidence can include practical work, photographs or videos of projects, written reflections, tutor observations, worksheets and planning activities.
This flexible approach enables learners to demonstrate what they can do in different ways while developing confidence, independence and skills for their next steps.
